Case Study

HTFN Italy - moved more than 320,000 kg of valves for oil plants in a mere 15 days. These shipments originated from a major petrochemical manufacturer in Italy and were addressed to a national petroleum construction site in Abu Dhabi for a huge gas development project.

These shipments were intended to move by sea freight, but due to many delays occurring in the manufacturing process the shipments had to be uplifted by air, at very short notice.

The first two lots of 11 valves were moved by truck from Milan to Paris and were loaded on two Air France scheduled freighter service. The last and largest lot was trucked to Amsterdam and then moved via Martinair Holland in two flights. Everything worked just fine and flew as booked!

This case study demonstrates an excellent example of a multi-modal freight managed solution. HTFN employed freight management services to locate the best time and space allocations in order to optimise both price and customer satisfaction for the client. In the process of carrying out the task HTFN utilised several airlines, international haulage systems and multiple gateways.
