CFR: Cost and freight terms of sale. Seller quotes price including the cost of goods all transportation charges to the named point destination

Cargo Release Control Book: List of bills of lading per vessel which is used to control freight payment their release to the pier

Carrier's Certificate: U.S. Customs form used in lieu of bill of lading

CBM: Cubic Meter - 35.314 cubic feet

Certificate of Origin: Formal document (required at destination) stating origin of cargo and relevant cargo details.

CFS Charge: Container freight station charge, assessed by carrier for the handling of non-containerized cargo at the terminal

CIF: Cost, insurance and freight terms of sale seller quotes a price including cost of goods, insurance and transportation charges to point of destination

Combined Transport: Provides for a combined transport by at least two different modes of transport from a place at which the goods are taken to a place designated for delivery

Commercial Invoice: On shipper's Letterhead must contain an accurate description of the merchandise and show country of origin. All expenses itemized

Commodity Description: Description of goods being shipped

Company Guarantee: A letter of guarantee from a company indemnifying the carrier from responsibility associated in the release of goods in lieu of bill of lading

Conference Certificate: Certificate declaring that the carrier is a member of the conference

Consulate Copy: Shipping documents must be presented to the consul for legalization either prior to or immediately after sailing

Container Stuffing List(CSL): List showing how cargo is stowed in container

Correction Notice(C/N): Internal documents for correction to manifest that reflect a change in the details of shipment

Cross Reference: Document that indicates B/L and corresponding container(s) or vice versa

Cubic Foot: 1728 cubic inches

Customs Clearance: Shipment cleared by customs for movement

Customs Duty: Monies paid to US Customs for goods entered into US from foreign countries

Customs House Broker: Agent representative licensed by US Customs Service who negotiates Customs clearance for import cargo on behalf of the consignee through US Customs

CY/CY: Container yard to container yard. Container loaded by shipper and unloaded by consignee
