bill of lading in which a carrier acknowledges that goods have been placed
on board a certain vessel
On Deck Storage:
Cargo stowed on deck of vessel
Opening Bank: Bank
which issues letter of credit
Open Rates: Rates
established for each individual carrier. These rates, although in the same
tariff, may differ according to carrier.
Optional B/L: Bill
of lading set up for shipper's optional discharge. Carrier required to be
notified 48 hours prior to vessel arriving at actual discharge port
